DOE Announces Preparations for Hurricane Season 2007

WASHINGTON, DC — The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will hold a joint press conference with the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service (MMS), the U.S. Coast Guard, and the American Petroleum Institute (API), on Wednesday, May 30, to discuss the status of preparations for the upcoming hurricane season.  The discussions will include initiatives to maximize safety, strengthen environmental safeguards, and support the continuity of production during the 2007 Hurricane Season.
