Western plans to repair damage to transmission lines and substations caused by storms on August 22-24, 2013, in the Yuma area. On the Gila North Gila 69-kilovolt (kV) Transmission Line, which Arizona Public Service (APS) maintains for Western, APS plans to replace 17 destroyed wood pole structures (3/2 to 5/3), with light-duty steel monopoles. While this line is down State Route 95 is blocked. On the Gila Knob 161-kV Transmission Line, Western plans to replace broken cross arms at Structure 0/2. On the Gila Sonora 69-kV, which also includes APS' Gila Araby circuit, Western plans to repair six to 10 structures located west of Avenue 9E that are leaning 15 degrees away from vertical. On the Gila Sonora San Luis 69-kV Transmission Line, Western plans to conduct repairs in and around Pump Tap 9-242.
