Bonneveille Power Administration (BPA) proposes to install equipment and fund upgrades in Portland General Electric’s existing McLoughlin Substation control house to improve communication bandwidth used in support of network operations. The BPA-installed equipment would include a rack with a direct current power board consisting of chargers, a battery disconnect switch, a charger disconnect switch, auxiliary input and circuit breaker panel; a cabinet with telecommunication equipment including routers, switches, and Ethernet; and a new -48 volt direct current battery plant. The existing battery would be retired upon installation of the new battery.
