CX(s) Applied: B5.1
Location(s): Peru, Illinois
Office(s): Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Golden Field Office
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity will use $873,700 in Recovery Act funds to support Unytite's plans to expand their current bolt and nut size manufacturing capabilities. The funds will be used to purchase and install a 600 ton press line and a thread rolling process line to supply bolts and nuts for the wind turbine industry. The equipment will be installed at the existing Unytite facility in Peru, Illinois, which currently produces bolts and nuts for the construction and heavy equipment industries. The equipment will be installed in an existing warehouse building at the facility. The project requires a 10,000 square foot addition to the existing building to provide storage space. This addition is adjacent to the warehouse and within the developed footprint of the facility.
