Department of Energy to Host Secretary of Energy Advisory Board Natural Gas Subcommittee Meeting

 

Washington, DC - On Wednesday, July 13, 2011, the U.S. Department of Energy will host a public meeting of the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board (SEAB) Natural Gas Subcommittee. The meeting will allow subcommittee members to hear presentations from stakeholders and experts on the safety and environmental performance of hydraulic fracturing.

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu will join former Virginia Senator John Warner on a conference call to discuss the commonsense, bipartisan energy saving standards for residential lighting that were included in the 2007 energy bill and how these standards will help U.S. households save money.

THURSDAY: Secretary Chu Welcomes Students and Tours Vehicles at EcoCAR's Finish Line

 

Washington, D.C. - On Thursday, June 16, 2011, Energy Secretary Steven Chu will welcome the sponsors and 16 student teams participating in EcoCAR: the NeXt Challenge, a three-year collegiate student engineering competition that focuses on advanced vehicle technologies that minimize fuel consumption and emissions, to the Finish Line at the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C.  At the Finish Line, Secretary Chu will tour the vehicles on display and speak with the students who engineered and built them.
