WASHINGTON, DC - On Earth Day, April 22, U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will participate in a conference call hosted by the White House Office of Public Engagement with students from college and university energy clubs across the country.

Secretaries Chu and Donovan to Host Conference Call on Home Owners Energy-Saving Improvements Program

 

WASHINGTON - Thursday, April 21st, U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu and U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan will launch a new pilot program intended to offer homeowners low-cost financing to help make their homes more energy efficient. The Federal Housing Administration's (FHA) new PowerSaver Program will offer homeowners up to $25,000 to finance the installation of insulation, duct sealing, replacement doors and windows, HVAC systems, water heaters, solar panels, and geothermal systems.

Washington, DC - Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 20, U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu will host a conference call to make a clean energy funding announcement.  Secretary Chu will be joined by Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E) Director Arun Majumdar. Secretary Chu will discuss how ARPA-E is helping spur innovation to grow the economy and win the future.

Secretary Chu to Kick-off the Electric Drive Transportation Association's Innovation Motorcade

 

WASHINGTON - Tuesday, April, 19, 2011, U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu will help kick-off the Electric Drive Transportation Association Annual Conference by participating in the Innovation Motorcade, an all electric vehicle motorcade that will start at the Department of Energy and travel around the city. Supporting electric vehicles will help the U.S. reach President Obama's bold but achievable goal of reducing oil imports by one-third by 2025.

Secretary Chu will give remarks at the opening ceremony and participate in a brief press conference.

WASHINGTON -TOMORROW, Tuesday, February 8, 2011, David Sandalow, Department of Energy Assistant Secretary for Policy and International Affairs, will host a conference call with reporters to release a new DOE report on electric vehicles.  The report will examine progress to date in meeting President Obama's goal of putting one million electric vehicles on the road by 2015, as well as additional steps that can continue to accelerate America's leadership in electric vehicle deployment.
