Real Estate is part of the Office of Asset Management within the Office of Management (MA).  

Under the guidance of the Senior Real Property Officer, the Office of Asset Management is responsible for the Department of Energy’s real estate functions. 

Real estate, which typically includes land and improvements, also includes the rights that exist in real estate which determine how real estate may be used.

Real estate functions encompass several key activities over the life cycle of real property assets including the planning, acquisition, management, and disposition.  

The Real Estate section:

  • Provides technical support to all the Programs of the Department
  • Serves as the technical authority and guidance to all Certified Realty Specialists throughout the Department.
