The Office of the Assistant General Counsel for International and National Security Programs (GC-53) serves as program counsel for the Offices of International Affairs, Intelligence and Counterintelligence, the Chief Information Officer, Enterprise Assessments, and Environment, Health, Safety and Security.  GC-53 provides, along with colleagues in the Office of the General Counsel, legal guidance and support across the Department on issues that involve or implicate national security, cybersecurity, export controls, international civilian nuclear cooperation, treaties and international agreements, international science and technology cooperation, and international trade, investment and procurement activities.
