Southeast Cooler: Proposed Penalty (2013-CE-5331)

January 31, 2013

DOE alleged in a Notice of Proposed Civil Penalty that Southeast Cooler Corp. failed to certify walk-in cooler or freezer components as compliant with the energy conservation standards.  DOE regulations require a manufacturer (which includes importers) to submit reports certifying that its products have been tested and meet the applicable energy conservation standards.  This civil penalty notice advises the company of the potential penalties and DOE's administrative process, including the company's right to a hearing.
