Schott Gemtron: Proposed Penalty (2013-CE-5358)

March 26, 2013

DOE alleged in a Notice of Proposed Civil Penalty that Schott Gemtron Corp. failed to certify a variety of walk-in cooler or freezer doors as compliant with the applicable energy conservation standards.  DOE regulations require a manufacturer (which includes importers) to submit reports certifying that its products have been tested and meet the applicable energy conservation standards.  This civil penalty notice advises the company of the potential penalties and DOE's administrative process, including the company's right to a hearing.
