National Comfort Products: Proposed Penalty (2014-SE-16014)

July 10, 2014

DOE alleged in a Notice of Proposed Civil Penalty that National Comfort Products failed to certify space constrained central air conditioners and central air conditioning heat pumps as compliant with the applicable energy conservation standards.  DOE regulations require a manufacturer (which includes importers) to submit reports certifying that its products have been tested and meet the applicable energy conservation standards.  This civil penalty notice advises the company of the potential penalties and DOE's administrative process, including the company's right to a hearing.
