DOE Involvement in Consensus Negotiations for Energy Conservation Standards.

The Department of Energy is supportive of outside parties' negotiations efforts to reach consensus on energy conservation standards and test procedures that can be presented for consideration by the Department However, neither the Department nor any of its contractors can:
offer advice or suggestion on any standard or test procedure under consideration by outside parties; take a position on any standard or test procedure under consideration by outside parties; negotiate with outside parties; or participate in any way in discussions among outside parties.
