DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Cooper Power Systems, LLC finding that basic models 277-99.28, 277-99.26, and 277-99.22 of distribution transformers do not comport with the energy conservation standards. DOE determined the products were noncompliant based on the company's own testing. Cooper must immediately notify each person (or company) to whom Cooper distributed the noncompliant products that the products do not meet Federal standards. In addition, Cooper must provide to DOE documents and records showing the number of units Cooper distributed and to whom. The manufacturer and/or private labeler of the product may be subject to civil penalties.
