DOE ordered Big Beam Emergency Systems, Inc. to pay a $6,536 civil penalty after finding Big Beam had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of the illuminated exit sign basic model that includes individual model RX1WRCR.  The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Big Beam.

DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Big Beam on July 13, 2016, finding that the illuminated exit sign basic model that includes individual model RX1WRCR does not meet the applicable energy conservation standard.  DOE determined the products were noncompliant based on DOE testing.  Big Beam was required to immediately notify each person (or company) to whom Big Beam had distributed the noncompliant products that the products do not meet Federal standards.  In addition, Big Beam provided to DOE documents and records showing the number of units Big Beam distributed and to whom.
