Quadrennial Energy Review Stakeholder Meeting No. 3

The U.S. Department of Energy is hosting a public meeting on the Quadrennial Energy Review (QER) in New Orleans on May 27, 2014, with Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz, Deputy Secretary of the Interior Mike Connor and Senator Mary Landrieu.

The meeting is on Petroleum Transmission, Storage, and Distribution Issues and takes place at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Medical Education Building Lecture Room, 1901 Perdido Street, New Orleans, LA 70112. Doors open at 8:00 A.M. and the meeting starts at 9:00 A.M.

The first-ever QER focuses on energy infrastructure to identify the threats, risks, and opportunities for U.S. energy security, economic competitiveness, and environmental responsibility, enabling the federal government to translate policy goals into a set of integrated actions. The QER will provide a multiyear roadmap that outlines Federal energy policy objectives, legislative proposals to Congress, Executive actions, an agenda for RD&D programs and funding, and financing and incentive programs.

The first installment of the QER will focus on energy transmission, storage and distribution infrastructure (TS&D). The New Orleans meeting is the third stakeholder meeting for the QER.

11:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M.  Panel 3: Workforce Development for Economic Development
Panelists to be announced.

12:30 P.M.   Open Mic for Public Comment
The public will have an opportunity to make 3-minute statements for the record.

The Department of Energy is hosting stakeholder engagement meetings across the country to gather public input for the QER. We will announce the dates and locations of upcoming meetings on this website and in the Federal Register as soon as they are confirmed.
