WASHINGTON, D.C. – DOE, in cooperation with the Energy Communities Alliance, Energy Facility Contractors Group, and Nuclear Energy Institute, will hold the first DOE National Cleanup Workshop Sept. 29 and 30 this year in the Washington, D.C. area.
PIKETON, Ohio – The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) and DOE have agreed to a plan to demolish the massive, iconic process buildings and other facilities undergoing deactivation and decommissioning (D&D) at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant.
PADUCAH, Ky. – EM recently completed demolition of the last of 32 inactive facilities to be removed as part of the cleanup scope that existed before commercial uranium enrichment operations ended at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant and the plant facilities were returned to DOE.
WASHINGTON, D.C. —Today, New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez and Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz released the terms of a $73 million settlement of the State’s claims against the U.S. Department of Energy and its contractors related to the February 2014 incidents at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in Carlsbad, New Mexico, including the associated activities at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
