The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) and Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO) have issued a request for information (RFI) on challenges and opportunities for vehicle-integrated photovoltaics (VIPV) or vehicle-added (or attached) PV (VAPV) systems.

As the market for solar powered vehicles grows, VIPV/VAPV have opportunities to add value to transportation sectors, from passenger and recreational vehicles to lightweight, medium-, and heavy-duty utility vehicles.

SETO and VTO request feedback from industry, market experts, regulators, and academia, on the current state of the vehicle PV market and industry, as well as opportunities and barriers for VIPV/VAPV, to inform strategic priorities for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).
