Derrick Ramos - Director, Legislative Affairs
Derrick Ramos serves as Director of Legislative Affairs in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).
The Office serves as the primary liaison between EERE technology offices and congressional authorizing committees, as well as other committees and offices. Legislative Affairs also provides corporate guidance on congressional interaction and strategic advice on legislation relevant to EERE.
He previously worked for three years at DOE's National Nuclear Security Administration in the Office of External Affairs. In this capacity, Ramos supported the Department's critical nuclear nonproliferation, emergency operations, and counterterrorism missions before the U.S. Congress. Before joining DOE in May 2010, he spent more than seven years working for senior members of Congress managing a variety of legislative issues including energy, environmental, and trade policy.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science from Texas A&M University and his Master in Business Administration from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
