At the Energy Department’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), we are committed to strengthening and growing the nation’s clean energy economy while reducing harmful carbon pollution that causes climate change. The transition to clean energy not only avoids burdening future generations, but provides them with new opportunities and enhances prosperity for all Americans. Through high-impact research and development, EERE leads the Department’s efforts to innovate and deliver market-driven solutions for energy saving homes, buildings, and manufacturing; sustainable transportation; and renewable electricity generation.
As part of our mission, EERE aims to actively engage with the public and other stakeholders in order to communicate the nature and impact of our efforts. This new EERE blog will highlight updates on current projects, interviews with energy experts, and other stories about our technology offices, cross-cutting initiatives, and our national laboratories.
I hope you will enjoy learning about EERE and the great work we are doing to transform our energy economy from one that is dependent on carbon to one that is dependent on innovation.
