Attendees will learn about developing a strategic energy plan using key aspects of successful energy planning and available information and resources. The webinar will also explain how a strategic energy plan enables a Tribe to mobilize long-term support that extends beyond changing political administrations, helps address barriers to energy development, and engages stakeholders from all segments of the community. The Energy Department will present a live webcast titled "Successful Commissioning of Refrigeration Systems" on Thursday, February 27, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Refrigeration systems account for a significant portion of commercial building energy use, especially in the food sales and service sector. Thousands of systems are installed annually in grocery and convenience stores, as well as food distribution and processing facilities. This webcast will share a new comprehensive resource, Refrigeration Commissioning Guide for Commercial and Industrial Systems, that will help owners, design teams, and operators navigate through the process of commissioning commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.

March 4: Open for Business: How to Use DOE's Newest Facilities

The Energy Department will participate in a webinar hosted by the Solar Energy Industries Association titled "Open for Business: How to Use DOE's Newest Facilities" on Tuesday, March 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. This webinar will examine six new facilities that specialize in photovoltaic validation, testing and monitoring. The Energy Department presented a live webinar titled "Instrumentation for Monitoring Marine Renewable Energy Devices" on Thursday, January 23. This webinar highlights themes that arose during a related workshop, including discussions on monitoring near-field interactions between marine mammals and marine renewable energy converters, characterizing the distribution and habitat use of marine animals in the vicinity of the converters, and measuring sound produced by marine renewable energy converters.
