As stated in previous articles, Continual Learning Program is a change initiative to help develop and grow a learning culture within DOE. This is happening through a series of workshops designed to help supervisors and employees with employee development by finding inexpensive training to create Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
Supervisors and employees are jointly responsible for employee development; there are “No Excuses” for employee development not taking place but solutions.
The following are some of the excuses and solutions:
|No training dollars in budget||Attend Keep Learning Even with Tight Budgets workshop|
|Don't know how to create an IDP||Attend How to Create an IDP in ESS workshop|
|Don't know what to put in an IDP||Attend Let's Work on Your IDP workshop|
|Never heard of an IDP||Supervisor attend Employee Development for Supervisors workshop|
|Creating an IDP is a waste of time||Attend Let's Work on Your IDP workshop and Supervisor attend Employee Development for Supervisors workshop|
|IDP inputs get denied||Attend Let's Work on Your IDP workshop and Supervisor attend Employee Development for Supervisors workshop|
