Luke Gomes is the lead Technology Manager and Project Officer for the Building Technology Office’s $65M Connected Communities Portfolio within the Emerging Technologies Program.  In this position Luke is responsible for stewarding the governments interests, collaborating with our project partners including the Solar Energy Technology Office, the Vehicle Technology Office, the Office of Electricity, and the National Coordinator Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory.  Connected Communities is a critical demonstration of economies of scale, and what can be achieved when Grid-Interactive Efficient Buildings work together.

Luke has been with DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy since 2009, and began his public service career during the Recovery Act working with state and local governments on building efficiency, renewable energy, and lighting technologies.  Luke has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.  Luke is also a state certified Master Electrician and Project Management Professional.
