David Conrad - Director for Tribal and Intergovernmental Affairs
David F. Conrad currently serves as the Director for Tribal and Intergovernmental Affairs, in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs, where he handles relations between the Department and tribes, cities, and counties.
David has twenty years of experience working with intergovernmental affairs in the energy, environmental, economic development, natural and cultural resources arenas. He has served in intergovernmental, legislative, and public affairs capacities to elected officials in tribal and city government, and has experience working with legislative bodies at the federal, tribal, state, and local levels. David has also served in executive leadership roles in the non-profit sector while National Tribal Environmental Council and the Council of Energy Resource Tribes.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Santa Clara University and a master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Administration from the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay. He holds a Certificate of Competency in German as a Foreign Language from the Goethe Institute, and is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma (Class XXII).
A native New Orleanian, David is also a citizen of the Osage Nation.
