DOE's FY 2011 Annual Performance Report (APR) presents the performance results for fiscal year 2011 that contributed to the achievement of goals identified in the President’s fiscal year 2011 budget. The performance measures in this report were initially outlined in the Department’s FY 2011 Congressional Budget Request. After final congressional budget negotiations, some performance targets were revised to reflect changes in funding levels in enacted appropriations.

DOE's FY 2011 Summary Report provides highlights of key financial and performance information that demonstrates DOE's accountability to ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental, and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions.

Four strategic goal areas:

  • transform our energy systems through catalyzing the timely, material, and efficient transformation of the nation’s energy system and securing U.S. leadership in clean energy technologies
  • promote the science and engineering enterprise by maintaining a vibrant U.S. effort in science and engineering as a cornerstone of our economic prosperity, with clear leadership in strategic areas
  • secure our nation by enhancing nuclear security through defense, nonproliferation, and environmental efforts
  • achieve management and operational excellence by establishing an operational and adaptable framework that combines the best wisdom of all Department stakeholders to maximize mission success
