2013 DOE Campaign

2013 CFC DOECAST

Dear DOE Employee,

This year marks the 52nd anniversary of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), the world’s largest and most successful annual charity drive.  Since 1961, Federal employees have raised nearly $7 billion to assist people in their local communities, across the country and around the world.  The 2013 CFC campaign theme for the National Capital Area is “Make it Possible.”

At Secretary Moniz’s request I am pleased to serve as Vice Chair of the 2013 DOE CFC.  We plan to hold the DOE CFC Kick-Off event in early October.  More information on the opening event is coming soon.

Donations to the CFC change lives.  The CFC supports more than 4,000 charities that work in communities near and far to provide human services, health care, medical research, disaster relief, housing, youth development, and much, much more – and you can direct your donations to the causes that mean the most to you.  Every contribution counts, and every pledge increases the Department of Energy’s power to make it possible.

I have found from my  prior involvement in the CFC that getting involved is both rewarding and invigorating, and so I look forward enthusiastically to this year’s CFC campaign.  You will be receiving updates from the DOE CFC throughout the 2013 campaign to let you know how you and your office can participate through CFC events.  For additional information on the 2013 DOE CFC, please contact Campaign Manager Bob Wright via email at robert.wright@hq.doe.gov or by telephone at (202) 586-0429 or your CFC Senior Coordinator.

While these are challenging times, the Department of Energy has an excellent record in meeting – even exceeding – its CFC goals year after year.   We encourage you to help sustain DOE’s remarkable record of generosity to the CFC and bring hope to those in need.

Thank you in advance for your support and commitment.
