Hurricane Sandy-Nor'easter Situation Reports

December 3, 2012 - 4:07pm: Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability has released the final situation report regarding power outages caused by Hurricane Sandy-Nor'Easter. 

All customers who are able to receive electricity and who lost power due to Sandy and the Nor’easter have had their electricity restored. The combined total peak customer electricity outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter (reported in the DOE Situation Reports) are 8,661,527: 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively. As of December 3, in New Jersey there are less than 19,000 customers and in New York there are less than 17,000 customers who are unable to accept electric service.

November 26, 2012 - 4:24pm: All customers who are able to receive electricity and who lost power due to Sandy and the Nor’easter have had their electricity restored, as reported in the 12th situation report. November 19, 2012 - 3:45pm: The 11th Hurricane Sandy-Nor'easter situation report is now available. As of 2:00 pm EST November 19, there are no impacted states which have more than 1,000 customers without power due to Hurricane Sandy or the Nor’easter. The combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter (reported in the Situation Reports) are 8,661,527: 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively.

November 16, 2012: The 10th Hurricane Sandy-Nor'easter situation report is now available. As of 9:00 am EST, there are 2,129 customers without power in the State of New York. This is a decrease of 22,932 customer outages from Tuesday's Situation Report. The combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter (reported in the Situation Reports) are 8,661,527: 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively.

November 13, 2012 - 10:35am: This morning, the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability released the ninth situation report regarding power outages and restorations due to Hurricane Sandy-Nor'Easter. 

As of 9:00 am EST November 13, there are 25,061 customers without power in the affected States impacted by Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter. This is a decrease of 63,821 customer outages from yesterday’s 10:00 am Situation Report. The combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter (reported in the Situation Reports) are 8,661,527: 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively.

This is a decrease of 77,617 customer outages from yesterday’s 10:00 am Situation Report. The combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter (reported in the Situation Reports) are 8,661,527: 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively.

This is a decrease of 122,740 customer outages from yesterday’s 3:00 pm Situation Report. The combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter (reported in the Situation Reports) are 8,661,527: 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively.

November 10, 2012 - 10:40am: This morning, the the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability released the sixth situation report regarding power outages and restorations due to Hurricane Sandy-Nor'Easter. The Energy Department continues to work with and support local utility companies to make sure that 100 percent of power is restored to customers across the East Coast. 

As of 9:00 am EST November 10, there are 289,239 customers without power in the affected States impacted by Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter. This is a decrease of 144,901 customer outages from yesterday’s 3:00 pm Situation Report

The combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter (reported in the Situation Reports) are 8,661,527. This is a result of 8,511,251 outages from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 outages from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively.

As of 2:00 pm EST November 9, there are 434,140 customers without power in the affected States impacted by Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter. This is a decrease of 57,940 customer outages from today’s 10:00 am Situation Report.

The combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter (reported in the Situation Reports) are 8,661,527: 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively.

As of 9:00 am EST November 9, there are 492,080 customers without power in the affected States impacted by Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter. This is a decrease of 269,338 customer outages from yesterday’s 3:00pm Situation Report. The combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter (reported in the Situation Reports) are 8,661,527: 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively.

This is an increase of 46,213 customer outages from today’s earlier situation report. The increase reflects customers who have lost power due to the Nor’easter, and the combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter are 8,661,527: meaning 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 150,276 from the Nor’easter, respectively. Restoration estimates and efforts by electric utilities are reported in the third situation report.

This is an increase of 42,633 customers reported from yesterday's situation report. The increase reflects customers who have lost power due to the Nor’easter. The combined total peak customer outages from Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter is 8,603,670, which breaks down as 8,511,251 from Hurricane Sandy and 92,419 from the Nor’easter Storm, respectively. Restoration estimates and efforts by electric utilities are reported in the second situation report.

As of 2:00 pm EST November 7, there are 672,572 customers without power in the affected States. This is an increase of 22,156 customer since this morning. The increase reflects customers who have lost power due to the Nor’easter. Restoration estimates and efforts by electric utilities are reported in the full situation report
